Yakov Smirnoff On Broadway In his One-Man Show
AS LONG AS WE BOTH SHALL LAUGH

Yakov Smirnoff arrived on Broadway in his one-man show, As Long As We Both Shall Laugh, at the American Airlines Theatre (227 West 42nd Street) on February 23rd. As Long As We Both Shall Laugh originally schedule to play through April 14th, has now been extended for six weeks through Monday, May 26th! Shows are at 8:00 PM on Sunday and Monday.
Yakov Smirnoff is best known in the United States as an observer of the relationship between Russia and America. Through his keen observation and timely wit, he helped build a bridge of understanding between these two diverse cultures. With the Cold War over, Yakov has shifted his focus to an even greater challenge, guaranteeing him long-term job security - the relationship between men and women. Yakov says, "Now, it's time to break down the wall between the genders."
In As Long As We Both Shall Laugh, Yakov uses his humor to help us understand and celebrate the indisputable differences between the genders.
Yakov became an American citizen on July 4, 1986, when he was sworn in at the Statue of Liberty. He came to America in 1977 with his parents and less than a hundred dollars in his pocket and went on to perform on "The Tonight Show", HBO, and Showtime. He is a frequent guest performer at the White House. He has made movies with actors such as Meryl Streep, Tom Hanks, Jack Nicholson, and Robin Williams. As Yakov jokes, "I'm proud to say that after working with me all of those actors went on to win Oscars." Yakov is excited to return to New York where his life as an American began.
As Long As We Both Shall Laugh will play Sunday and Monday evenings at 8:00 PM from February 23rd through May 26th. Please note there are no performances on March 9-10 and March 16-17.
